Be afraid

What's to be afraid of? Be afraid of some white men, some black men, some oriental men, some Russians, some Chinese.......be afraid of some Americans, some Canadians, some Frenchmen.....

Some of each of those, indeed, some of all of us are evil. Be afraid of those who are evil. Some men live without God, be afraid of them because they have no law. Some men use the name of God to teach perverse philosophies and lead you into the darkness of their minds and evil.

Obama held his grandmother up as an example of something shameful. He repeated that she said that sometimes she's afraid of black men. He used it to justify the rantings of Mr. Wright.

I don't care what color you are. We are souls created by God for Himself. We are here temporarily, just as the ceasars were, the Huns, the Picts, and just as millions and millions of people who have long passed into eternity.

The only thing worth fearing is evil, evil men and the evil they do. We should fear the evil we may all do. There is nothing else to be afraid of.

Fear evil!

They're still on about......

It's been my observation, that the "news" isn't news anymore.

In a conversation yesterday, someone observed to me that the BBC has an actual news program. Europe, or at least England, actually have news programs.

In this country, whether in print or on the Internet or on the airwaves, news has degenerated into a continual rehashing of the latest scandal ad infinitum until you're heartily sick of hearing about it.

I don't need to know anything more about poor Paul McCartney and his ex and their multi million dollar settlement.

How many times do they think we need to be told that Obama speaks with a forked tongue? Enough already. Any person of even moderate intelligence gets it. Well, ok maybe that needs to be addressed a few more times. It does seem really, really, really, far fetched that he could attend a church for 20 years and not know what the pastor is preaching all that time. It begs a question of Obama's attention span.

I did notice that there were a number of individuals who insist that the vicious comments made by Obama's pastor were "taken out of context". Minds capable of distorting the truth to that extent should frighten us. Minds like that should scare us to death.

I DON'T and I repeat DO NOT need every dirty detail about the governor of New York's indiscretion. I particularly don't need ANY detail at all about the other party of the indiscretion. I have no use for this information. As far as I know there's not going to be an exam with questions about this man and his fall from grace or others connected with this scandal.

You can almost see a group of children squatting around something dead on the ground and squealing eewww gross when the news media presents to us 60 different ways and 210 times in the same day for a running total of 3727 times in the same week the latest "on dit". Aren't these people supposed to have some sort of edumacation on what constitutes news? (I just made up those figures by the way)

Do these people not know that immorality hasn't been news since the Garden of Eden? I'm beginning to develop an aversion to the news in any form simply because they repeat themselves so many times. It's annoying. Is that their point? Do they want intelligent (well ok, relatively intelligent) people to lose interest in the news and stop keeping up? Maybe that is the point.

If that's not the case, maybe there should be a whole semester in Journalism 101 on the difference between news and gossip. Perhaps they just don't teach that anymore.

All of that being said, I am grateful that situations like the legal system in Massachusetts refusal to pass Jessica's Law and the judges there setting dangerous criminals free on a nearly daily basis, are kept in the forefront of the public arena.

Still, I do wish they'd learn the difference between what's truly news worthy and what's enough when you mention it once.

Can we take this man seriously?

The media has been littered for the past two or three days with the "news" that Obama has attended a church for the past 20 years give or take and hasn't heard what his pastor has to say.

Obama is issuing statements to distance himself from the poison this supposed "minister of God" has been spewing to his congregation and fondly believing that we're not going to notice that he either hasn't been paying attention to what his supposed spiritual adviser has to say or he's just been caught spinning the truth into the next galaxy. Either case is not a good reflection on Obama.

I've never seen any person as anything but a soul created by God and therefore having the same value and dignity, given by God, as my own. I've never understood a distinction based on the shade of a person's skin. God made everyone, God is good, what God has made is good, even if we ARE all sinners.

That said, I'm beginning to believe that we should be paying close attention to these people. One has to hope that people are alert enough to catch all the "little slips" Obama, his wife and their cohorts are making. Their "slip" is showing and it's shocking to see this kind of hatred. What would he do, in a position of authority such as the presidency of the United States, to the people it appears he has such loathing for.

Bottom line: I don't believe for one minute that Obama is unaware of the vindictive rhetoric and incitement to hatred this so called minister vomits from his mouth. I do find it hard to believe that any thinking person would believe this line of spin.

Even assuming for a moment that Obama has attended this church for 20 plus years, and has had this individual as a spiritual adviser for however long, not to mention that this individual has given up preaching to assist Obama, .........

What does it say about Obama, if he could sail through 20 years and miss all that?

On being green

It struck me yesterday, that human beings must worship something. If they don't worship God they find a replacement. They have to. So some worship power or money or themselves, but others worship animals or the environment.

In the grand scheme of things, we are the children of God and the earth is our *room*. As children of God we have a duty to keep our room clean. We should care for the environment and animals properly and keep things in good order. We have an obligation to take care of what our Father gives us, but we have to maintain reason while we do so.

That being said, the "greenies" take the concept far beyond what is our bounden duty and make it a matter of worship. By doing so they lose all reason and place things above the worship of the King. God is the King. It is He who provides everything. It is He who has established the law and order of the universe. The "greenies" dictate what we may and may not do to the point of interfering with peoples and governments not their own. It's horrifying to see what these worshipers of false gods do to the people around them. They bully people and governments in the name of this false god of theirs and in some cases destroy they economy.

By all means, we should employ conservation and take due care of the world, but that in order to please Our Father, not from some demented idea that there actually is an entity called mother earth. I cringe every time that term is used. There's no "mother earth" any more than there's a Mother Goose. There's God, Our Father, who gave us this lovely home and we should take care of it to honor Him. We should show Him that we are appreciative of the gifts He's given us by keeping our room clean.

To elevate conservation and animals above the station God gave them is insanity and profane worship of a false God.

Just another opinion.

What in the world are they thinking?

Hello again,

I saw a news blurb on Bill O'Reilly the other night about training dogs. One of the comments that stood out was the answer to the question about how to get dogs to do what you want, such as "sit". The woman answered that you wait for the dog to sit and then praise and reward it.

HUH? That goes way past stupid. I have two dogs as you can see from the pictures. If the dogs don't do what they're told, they get disciplined. Not beaten, but they're told they're bad dogs and the command is repeated until they do what they're told and THEN they get a treat. If what they do is really bad, such as chewing something up they get swatted with a rolled up newspaper.

The dogs are still in training, but they're making progress. The point of all this is that while I do have an obligation as a human to treat the dogs kindly, they're dogs. They're not human and they don't occupy the same space in the scheme of things as humans do. They're here to alert us to strangers coming and they do a very good job.

The point of all this is that our society has raised the status of animals to that of near human, and in some cases equal status to humans. They're animals! They're here to serve us, feed us and clothe us. They're NOT our partners.

People who talk to animals as if they're another human or tell me I'm "Auntie" to an animal make me nervous. By raising the status of animals to such a height, they've lowered the status of human beings to the level of animals.

The insanity of that just boggles the mind.

Remember that tree in the forest that falls and there's no one to hear the sound?

That is perhaps, the best known philosophical question. Based on that, my own question is similar. If there's a stop sign in the middle of the forest and there's nobody to see, do you have to stop?

The measure of maturity is that one does what is right because it's right, not because one can get away with doing what one wants or what is convenient. So the answer to that question is yes, you stop, you do the speed limit, whatever is right and correct because it IS right and correct.

That ties in with moral truths. There is truth. Truth does not change. Cain knew that he had sinned when he murdered his brother Able. Murder has always been wrong and men have always known it was wrong, and yet the Good God felt He had to put that in writing. This fact tells us just how inclined we are to sin. When you stop to think about it, it's embarrassing to the human race that God felt He had to put anything in writing.

Chaos so reigns in the world at the moment, that men have descended to new lows of immorality, or amorality as it were. Our society rejects, not only Divine authority, but we reject our own authority. We began with twisting God's law and perverting the purpose of life, and we twist and pervert our own laws.

Still, we persist in thinking that basically, we're all good at heart. It's a nice thought, "I'm a good person, I play nice with others", but the sad fact is, we each begin at an early age to thwart the laws of God and progress to thwarting the laws of our own households by disobeying our parents and then disobeying the laws of the state. And yet, we still insist we're good. Which brings us to the question of the concept of obedience, but I'll leave that to another post.

Just how blind can we be? Behind it all is pride and a colossal self love which allows us to do mental gymnastics almost to the point of contortion- ism and we deform our hearts and souls beyond recognition.

"What fools these mortals be".

Does anybody even know?

We've all heard the term "politically correct" bandied about for these many long years. Does anybody even know what it actually means?

One of the things I find interesting in liberals is that they have slickery terms. Terms that slide about the spectrum and mean whatever they want them to mean at the time. Politically correct is one of those terms. All things politically correct change with the speaker. What's politically correct DOESN'T have much to do with what's true and what's false.

What liberalism has done to our society is devastating. It's curious that so many people could be convinced that truth is relative. Truth is either truth or it's not. Yet, people actually buy into the idea that what's true for me may not be true for somebody else. Does anybody even know what truth is?

Liberalism "liberates the truth" and unleashes a type of insanity on the world that's crushing the life out of the intellect. If truth is true, then it must remain constant, otherwise it's variable and not true. According to liberals, however, truth depends on semantics. It's your own definition that makes it true or untrue.

Once you've convinced people that truth is relative, it's easy to destroy all the moral fabric of society. If abortion was once morally wrong, if it was once murder, then the liberals liberate that and make it not murder any more. Ergo, what was once true is no longer. That applies to all the moral "truths" that were once held as true by the vast majority of society.

Morals haven't changed, and truth is still true. What's changed, is that liberalism has released the serpent of hell again, on a world that has been so far dumbed down that they no longer recognize that liberals have hijacked the truth and we've become amoral with our own consent.

Amoral means without morals. If morals aren't true and depend on the definition of individual, then morals don't exist. We have become an amoral world. Morals have become an inconvenience to us and truth isn't gone, just abandoned like so many babies left of the doorstep.

Spandex should be outlawed!

Spandex should be outlawed. Have you wondered if people ever look at themselves in the mirror after they dress? I'm often appalled at how people appear in public, but most specifically those who wear spandex. Why do these people do this to themselves? It looks awful, hideous even. Every flaw you have is exposed to public view. Ladies and gentlemen, it ain't pretty.

Then there's the "shabby chic" look.....people pay money to "look" poor. Go figure. I've been trying to wrap my head around that logic for a long, long time.

Remember your Sunday best? Once upon a time we had a set of clothing, including shoes that were only worn on Sunday. It marked Sunday as a special day that was given only the best. Now the dress code has been abandoned. It's almost as if we're ashamed to look our best. Certainly we have renounced the Lord's Day as something out of the ordinary.

Even highly publicised events such as the Inaugural Ball, the Oscars, any upscale event, you have your tennis shoes with tuxedos and your jeans with a dress shirt and tie. These are people who, mind you, grew up and decided to play dress up and make believe for a living. Many of them dress the same way their characters in the movies do, and it's bizarre. Never mind the women, they're in a contest to see who can wear the least amount and get away with it. I thought there was a word for trying to sell yourself in a public forum. But, I digress.

Society is screaming it's insanity out loud and nobody is listening. There's no more display of self respect by the way one dresses and behaves in public. It's a lot like living in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Have you ever noticed?

The other day I was in a public place and a young man opened a door as I was reaching to open it from the opposite side. One thinks that the automatic response will be "Excuse me", which is what I automatically said. The young man, however, said "My bad". I only just managed to refrain from laughing in his face.

Have you ever noticed how bad manners have gotten? We all do realize it from time to time, but the fact is that we no longer have manners.

Please, excuse me, thank you, and the like are nearly extinct. Of course, some still do use the old manners especially in public. My opinion is that we should exercise manners automatically with our families and with the people with whom we live and then radiate out to the world beyond. Even that has changed.

I've heard comments (lots of them) about the fact that when you're listening to the news, if there is more than one person, they simply talk over each other. No manners.

When making phone calls, how often do you get a call for yourself, or someone in your household and the caller simply says..............is "n" there? Seldom does the caller identify who they are and then ask for the person they want to speak to. No manners.

To her great credit, a relative of mine sees to it that her children always write thank you notes when they've received a gift. How often are thank you notes ever though of any more? No manners.

So, the bottom line is we've become a slovenly society completely lacking in manners. What does that mean? I suspect it means that we've become so selfish and centered on self that we no longer worry about how we affect others.

Witness the new "hair styles" of deliberately making one's hair look as if you've just gotten out of bed. It's hard to wrap the mind around the reason for that *style*. It's obnoxious and shows exactly how the wearer of that strange trend sees the world. They definitely don't worry about how they look to others and it certainly is a reflection of the mind inside the head.

Our society is in grave trouble; few notice, few care and the rest lead lives of quiet desperation.

Brotherly love?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080302/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_iran

This is a link to the "breaking story" of Iran and Iraq making a new beginning in the spirit of brotherly love.

The first thought that popped to mind was.......Cain and Able were brothers too. My opinion is that it bodes no good for Iraq.

Children Rule!

There's a rather odd sort of mind set out there that children rule. The idea that children are in training for adulthood has been nearly completely lost. We saddle our children with the burden of making decisions for themselves before they've even reached the age of reason. Children are consulted about the running of their lives before they even know they have one.

Walking through the grocery store is enough to prove the case and point. You hear mothers and fathers trying to reason with three year old. A three year old doesn't reason. The parents can be heard to continually consult with their children on nearly every subject that comes up, from breakfast cereals to their marriages and well......everything.

Gone is the idea that childhood is a time for learning how to become a responsible adult accountable for their actions. They're crushed down with the responsibility of choices and decisions that adults SHOULD be making, long before they have the life skills to shoulder that responsibility.

Children are forced by society into losing their innocence by the media and television, and now in the school systems before they have the ability to use logic and reason to protect themselves. Our society is a cruel one for children. They're not allowed to be children for the duration of childhood any more. Adults force them to face questions and problems that the poor children haven't the least idea or experience to handle.

Children are adults in training. Rather than an idyllic 21 year period of playtime, it's a grueling sprint to learn in 18 or 21 years how to conduct yourself for the years that follow. When you see 70 year old people who are slovenly, wasteful, impolite, lacking in manners and prudence in conducting their lives, you know they had a hard childhood run for them by parents who didn't take the responsibility of teaching their children how to be decent, functioning human beings seriously.

What a cruel society we've become to let our children be victimized by grown people who's idea of what is good and proper to the rearing of children is perverted. Note, I did not use the word adult there. Adults teach, correct, guard and train children to be responsible, functioning adults as well. Grown people just drag the children along for the ride.
